Many organizations are focused on achieving a particular maturity level. They've formed a process improvement group and charged them with the responsibility of making it happen. Unfortunately, left to their own devices, such a group will try to "implement the CMMI" rather than figuring out ways to supplement existing good practices with others suggested by the model.

PACT's consulting practice is targeted at helping organizations understand how to focus on real improvement rather than merely "getting the level."
